To bring this project to life, I followed the ADDIE instructional design model, which allowed me to approach the project systematically from concept to completion.
I interviewed the photographer to uncover recurring challenges during client sessions, including poor outfit choices, late arrivals, and unclear expectations. We defined the goals of the guide: to educate clients, reduce pre-session confusion, and improve the overall experience all while staying on-brand.
I planned the course structure around visual learning: a click-to-reveal image gallery for do's and don’ts, followed by a tabbed interaction for tips on planning outfits, managing children, and preparing for the shoot. I created a detailed storyboard to outline user interaction and text.
Using Articulate Storyline, I brought the content to life by incorporating client photos and interactive triggers. I added layered tips and styled the visual design to match the photographer’s branding and client tone, friendly, professional, and visually engaging.
The final product was delivered to the client as a digital resource, ready to share with clients ahead of photo sessions. It was tested for responsiveness and ease of navigation on desktop and tablet.
After sharing the guide with a few test clients, the photographer reported fewer pre-shoot issues and better client preparedness. Their feedback confirmed that the guide was user-friendly and effective, and it has since been adopted as part of their standard session prep process.
